Give me a name by which to call you
I will call you by that name, any name—
I will name you anything beautiful,
Anything drawn by celestial flames.
Give me wrongs to pardon, all is absolved,
Every grief and every tear—even death—
Even the passing into worlds dissolved
In silence—the flame hushed by a last breath.
But you must come with gentle eyes and hand—
And you must speak to me if not with me:
You must say, Si toujours et toujours si.
You must understand, help me understand.
You must be here for not being here before—
Be here. Come give me something to adore.
