When She Gave Me Our Pictures

You gave me a special present today
And it was just what I always wanted.
You gave me a special present today
Because I was weak with pain and haunted.
It was the pictures we made together,
The ones of us in separate frames.
It was the pictures we made together
Where we looked so alike, so much the same.
Do you know what you really gave me?
It was priceless but you gave it for free.
Do you know what you really gave me?
Something to preserve your memory.
Now I can recall those times we once knew,
Gazing on your present, my keepsake – of you.
